Help & Documentation
Everything you need to know about using Jobzyl to supercharge your job search.
Getting Started
Jobzyl searches 20+ public job boards (including Indeed, Reed, Adzuna, USAJOBS, Careerjet, We Work Remotely, plus government employment services and remote-job boards) in parallel and streams results to you in real-time. No account is required to start. Just pick your keywords and location and hit search.
- Click "New search" in the top navigation, or click "Start searching" on the home page.
- Select keyword groups (e.g. "Frontend", "Data Science") or type custom keywords.
- Choose one or more locations: countries, cities, or "Remote".
- Click Search: results begin streaming in within a few seconds.
Search Tips
Get the best results with these techniques:
- Use specific titles: "Frontend Engineer" finds more relevant results than just "Developer".
- Combine keywords: Add "React Developer" and "Next.js Engineer" together to cover more ground.
- Multiple locations: Add "Germany", "Netherlands", "Remote" to search all at once.
- Adjust days back: Increase to 60β90 days to find older but still-open roles.
- Results per query: Lower this (e.g. 20) for faster results; raise it (50) for completeness.
- Remote only: Toggle this to filter source sites to remote-first jobs before they arrive.
Results & Filters
Once results load, use the filter bar above the job grid to narrow your view:
- Search bar: Filters by title, company, or location in real-time.
- Source filter: Show only results from a specific board (Indeed, Reed, Adzuna, USAJOBS, Bundesagentur, France Travail, We Work Remotely, RemoteOK, etc. β 20 in total).
- Job type: Full-time, Part-time, Contract, Internship.
- Salary only: Show only jobs that list a salary range.
- Remote only: Filter to remote-friendly roles in the results.
- Sort: Sort by date, salary, relevance score, or CV match score.
The salary insights panel appears at the top of results when salary data is available. It shows the median, min, max, and a histogram. Click to expand or collapse it.
Export CSV: Click the export button to download all filtered results as a CSV file with 19 columns, ready for Excel or Google Sheets.
Tracking Applications
Click the bookmark icon on any job card to track it. Tracked jobs move through a pipeline:
- Click the status badge on a tracked job to change its stage.
- Open the Tracked panel (the bookmark icon in the results bar) to see all tracked jobs filtered by status.
- Open Kanban board (the grid icon) for a column view of all tracked jobs by status.
- Add notes, applied date, and follow-up date inside the job detail panel once tracked.
Resume Matcher
Jobzyl has two distinct CV features. They do different things and live in different places.
1. In-browser ATS keyword score (private, local)
The Resume Matcher on the /resume page gives you an ATS-style keyword match score that runs entirely on your device.
- Open the Resume Matcher from the navbar or the βResumeβ link.
- Paste your resume text into the left panel.
- Paste the job description into the right panel.
- The score and missing keywords appear instantly. The text is compared in your browser using keyword overlap; no CV text is sent to our servers or any third party for this step.
Your CV may be cached in your browserβs localStorage (key jobzyl_resume) so the matcher can run offline next time. The cache is cleared on sign-out.
2. AI-powered features (server-side, sent to Anthropic in the US)
When you sign in and use the AI assistant features β cover letter generation, interview prep, CV-tailoring tips, and the AI match score shown on individual jobs β your CV text and the job description are sent server-side to Anthropic (Claude Haiku) in the United States, processed transiently, and the response is returned to you. Anthropic does not use the content to train models, per their API terms. The CV record stored in our database is encrypted at rest.
See our Privacy Policy, the GDPR & Data Requests page (international transfers, SCCs), and the Cookies Policy (the jobzyl_resume localStorage key) for details.
Job Alerts
Job alerts notify you when new results matching your criteria are found during a search.
- Click the bell icon in the top nav to open Alerts.
- Create an alert with a name and keywords to watch for.
- Toggle the alert on. When you next run a search, Jobzyl checks new results against your alerts.
- If matching new jobs are found, a browser notification is shown (you will be asked for notification permission on first match).
Account & Cloud Sync
Jobzyl works fully without an account. Sign in to unlock cloud sync:
- Tracked jobs synced across all your devices.
- Search history saved securely (last 20 searches).
- Job alerts stored in your account.
- Resume text saved to your profile.
Click Sign in in the top navigation. You can create a free account with your email or sign in with Google.
To manage your account (change your password or email, export your data, or delete your account), visit the Account page after signing in.
